Max Burbach is the Chair of Koley Jessen’s Real Estate, Environmental and Natural Resources Law Practice Group. Max is first and foremost a transactional attorney, practicing primarily in the areas of real estate purchases, sales, leasing, and financing. He advises clients on financing matters associated with the acquisition and construction of development projects, as well as the negotiation and drafting of all documents related to such developments. Max has represented developers, owners, landlords, and tenants with respect to office buildings, mixed use centers, strip centers, and other commercial, industrial, and warehouse space. In connection with such representation, Max has advised and assisted such clients in the acquisition and financing of the project; leasing and pad site sales; negotiating and implementing easements, covenants, and restrictions; the ultimate sale of the project; and ancillary contracts associated with the development, operation, management, and marketing of such projects. Max has been selected by his peers for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America (© Woodward/White Inc.) for his work in Real Estate Law.

  • Representation of shopping center and strip center developers in site acquisition, financing, leasing, pad site sales and sale of projects, including restructuring and workouts
  • Representation of borrowers in negotiating and finalizing commercial and real estate loans
  • Representation of landowners in negotiating leases with wind farm developers
  • Negotiating and drafting condominium documents, operation and easement agreements, restrictive covenants, and easements
