Leilani’s legal work focuses on employment law and labor relations, as well as litigation and trial practice. She assists clients with a wide range of employment and labor issues, including advising on day-to-day employment matters, drafting of employment documents, complying with various state and federal employment-related statutes and regulations, and responding to employment discrimination claims. She also represents employers and employees involved in litigation in state and federal courts.

Representative Experience

• Obtained summary judgment for employers in multiple federal court lawsuits involving claims of employment discrimination under state and federal statutes.
• Successfully defended dozens of Charges of Discrimination before state and federal agencies resulting in No Reasonable Cause determinations.
• Assisted employers in implementing multi-state drug and alcohol testing programs, and trade secret and confidential information protection programs.
• Drafted and reviewed employee handbooks and employer policy manuals for compliance with federal, state and local law.
• Advised employer conducting reductions in force and drafted separation agreements and decisional unit disclosures.
