Karine counsels clients on the protection of their U.S. and foreign intellectual property assets and provides services associated with such protection, including researching and providing opinions on the availability and/or registrability of trademarks; filing and prosecuting trademark and copyright registration applications; policing trademarks for infringing uses; and addressing actual or potential infringement of intellectual property through cease-and-desist letters and other dispute resolution mechanisms. Karine also assists clients with respect to the commercialization of their intellectual property assets through the performance of due diligence in pending acquisitions and the drafting and negotiating of various types of transactional documents including licenses, assignments, sale and purchase agreements, joint venture agreements and supplier and distributor agreements. She also assists individuals and businesses with drafting terms of uses and privacy policies for their websites and other internet privacy and cyberliability law compliance matters. Karine is fluent in French and works with clients on legal matters occurring in the U.S., Canada, the European Union, Asia, Australia, Africa and South America.
