Koley Jessen offers a Clerkship Program for law students who are interested in becoming associated with the firm after graduation. We hire both first year and second year law students at very competitive salaries to participate in our summer Clerkship Program. The Clerkship Program involves three rotations during a 14-week period each summer. Law Clerks will have the opportunity to work in all three Rotation Groups, each of which includes several Areas of Practice. The three Rotation Groups are as follows:
The Clerkship Program exposes the Law Clerks to many different areas of practice and to most, if not all, of the Attorneys in the Firm. All Attorneys are encouraged to provide each Law Clerk with real "hands-on" experiences such as attending a court hearing, a trial, a deposition, the closing of a transaction and client meetings, in addition to legal research and writing projects. The Law Clerks are reviewed and provided feedback at the end of each rotation which gives the Law Clerks the best opportunity to grow and improve during their time with the Firm.
Throughout the summer, the Firm sponsors several social activities outside of the office to which the law clerks are invited. In the past, these activities have included a golf scramble, bowling tournament, go-cart races, tailgating at the College World Series, and other informal social outings. We believe that these activities give the attorneys and law clerks a chance to get to know one another on a more informal basis and allow the Firm to maintain its small firm feel as we continue to grow.
