Joan Cannon is a Koley Jessen shareholder who specializes in employee benefits law. She has practiced employee benefits law since June 2000, and prior to that had practiced insurance law since 1981. Her practice now includes representation of employers and fiduciaries in both the private and public sector in the design, implementation, maintenance and compliance of qualified retirement plans, executive compensation, non-qualified deferred compensation arrangements and health and welfare plans. Joan provides both technical advice and practical administrative counsel for sponsoring employers, plan administrators, and service providers. An avid author of the Firm’s newsletter, Joan has also lectured on issues relating to qualified retirement plans and IRC Section 409A. Joan has a bachelor’s degree from University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a law degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Law. She is a member of the Pension Council of the Midlands, the ESOP Association and AGRIP.
