Founded in 1988 by Jim Koley, Paul Jessen, and four additional partners, Koley Jessen set out with a clear vision: to create a firm that is a great place to work and excels in client service. Rooted in our firm's history, our Over-The-Top Service Awards carry forward the legacy of our founder, Paul Jessen. A master craftsman in both law and woodworking, Paul would carve inspiring sayings into chunks of wood collected from his hunting trips and gift them during the holidays. These handmade mementos, adorned with phrases like "Exceed Expectations" and "Service," became cherished tokens amongst our staff and were passed around for years, recognizing exemplary service wherever it was found. Over time, this tradition has evolved into our Over-The-Top Service Awards, which are now bestowed monthly and once annually based on nominations.
