Koley Jessen Welcomes Addition of Nine Summer Associates
Koley Jessen is pleased to welcome nine law school students to the firm to participate in its Summer Associate Program.
Each summer, Koley Jessen offers law students the opportunity to work amongst its attorneys on a variety of ongoing client matters. The twelve week program is comprised of three rotations through different practice areas and provides students realistic insight into the private practice of law. By summers end, they will have experienced such things as attending court hearings, trials, depositions, the closing of a transaction, and client meetings in addition to working on legal research and writing projects.
“The Summer Associate Program is an important source for our associate hiring,” said Mike Hupp, President of Koley Jessen. “We use this program to identify the best and brightest and assess cultural fit. It allows us to find students who simultaneously exemplify our commitment to ‘over-the-top’ client service and possess the legal expertise to best serve our clients.”
Joining Koley Jessen as second year summer associates are Gabreal Belcastro, Kianna Moore, Jennifer Novotny, and Michael Pirnie. Belcastro and Novotny attend Creighton University School of Law; Moore attends University of Michigan Law School; and Pirnie attends the University of Virginia School of Law.
Joining the firm as first year summer associates are Emily Coffey, Katie Curtiss, James Glover, Beau Morgan, and Jacob Walker. Coffey, Curtiss, and Glover attend the University of Nebraska College of Law and Morgan and Walker attend Creighton University School of Law.
“We are happy to welcome these nine students to Koley Jessen and look forward to getting to know each of them,” said David Goeschel, Recruiting Committee Chairperson. “Rotating through this program is a great introduction to the day-to-day practice of law; showcases our talent, culture, clients, and legal services; and ultimately provides a well-rounded picture of what our firm has to offer.”
Although they will interact with and work alongside various attorneys, each summer associate is matched up with a mentor, who will provide guidance and feedback throughout the program. Students will also have a chance to attend social activities hosted by the firm to network and develop relationships.
