Bryan Slone Honored by Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants
The Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accounts announced Bryan Slone, Of Counsel at Koley Jessen and Chair of the firm’s Tax Practice Group, as the 2016 Public Service Award winner at its 16th Annual Fall CPE Conference held on October 24-25, 2016.
Each year, the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants accepts the nomination of members for the Public Service Award to recognize Nebraska CPAs who have performed outstanding public service in their communities. Slone was recognized for his many contributions of time and efforts to community organizations including Joslyn Art Museum, the Omaha Symphony, the Nebraska Humane Society, Ak-Sar-Ben Foundation, the Boy Scouts of America Mid-America Council, and the American Cancer Society, among others.
In addition to each award presented, a scholarship is awarded to a current college student studying accounting. A scholarship in Slone’s name was granted to University of Nebraska-Lincoln student, Emma Mabry.
Slone is a graduate of both the College of Business Administration and the College of Law at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is also the current Executive-in-Residence at the School of Accountancy at the University, providing career advice to students and teaching federal income taxation classes.
Bryan has over 30 years’ experience including governmental and private practice in the United States and Germany. In his practice, Bryan provides advice to clients in the areas of federal and state taxation, tax dispute resolution, international tax and transfer pricing, bankruptcy tax, mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, and government policy and administrative procedure.
