H1-B Visa Petitions to Be Accepted Starting April 1, 2014

02.03.2014

On April 1, 2014, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will begin accepting H-1B visa petitions for the 2015 fiscal year (October 1, 2014 – September 30, 2015).  As you may be aware, there are a limited number of "cap subject" H-1B visas available each year, and such visas are regularly spoken for immediately.  In other words, failure to petition for an H-1B visa at the earliest possible opportunity (i.e., submission of the petition on April 1) will likely result in an inability to obtain a visa for the next fiscal year.  If your company is interested in sponsoring a foreign worker on an H-1B visa, please contact a member of Koley Jessen’s Employment, Labor and Benefits Practice Group to discuss the process.
