During the 12-week program, summer associates will work as active members of our legal team on ongoing client matters across all major practice areas of the firm, providing them with comprehensive and practical exposure to various facets of private law practice.

As they rotate through three four-week periods, each focused on a different department, they will have opportunities to prepare for court appearances, trials, and depositions; conduct due diligence for corporate transactions; draft their own estate planning documents; and participate in a new mock exercise with our immigration team, assisting a client seeking asylum, where clerks will guide the client through the process; alongside attending client meetings and contributing to legal research and writing assignments.

To ensure personalized guidance, each summer associate will be paired with a mentor who will provide feedback and support, facilitating their professional growth and preparing them for the challenges and opportunities of their legal careers.

Additionally, the program features a variety of social events hosted by the firm to promote networking and relationship-building in a more casual setting. These events are an integral part of the summer experience, supporting camaraderie and a sense of community among the associates and our team.

“We're thrilled to welcome this exceptionally high-caliber cohort of summer associates to Koley Jessen,” said David Goeschel, Recruiting Committee Chair. “These law students bring outstanding academic achievements and a strong commitment to excellence, qualities we value highly in our team members. Over the next few months, we want them to experience firsthand the collegiality and collaborative nature of our firm's culture, gaining valuable insight into their fit within our team. Overall, we’re excited to provide a summer filled with meaningful work, mentorship, and enjoyable social activities, all aimed at helping them develop their skills, gain confidence in their legal abilities, and set the stage for successful legal careers."

Koley Jessen is proud to continue our tradition of fostering the next generation of legal talent. We eagerly anticipate the contributions and growth of this class and look forward to the positive impact they will undoubtedly have on our firm and clients. Welcome to our 2024 summer associates!
