Michael Nichols uses his expertise to advise clients on a variety of matters involving commercial transactions, data privacy and security issues, and intellectual property matters.  

He negotiates general commercial agreements and routinely deals in technology-related contracts, including software-as-a-service agreements, master services agreements, license agreements, and managed services agreements, among others. He counsels clients, whether buy-side or sell-side, to help them fulfill needs, assess risk, meet compliance, and execute strategy. Michael has experience across numerous industries and with varying clients, from startups to Fortune 500 companies.

He also advises clients regarding compliance with applicable data privacy and security laws, including the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other relevant state and federal laws. He drafts and reviews data transfer agreements, data license agreements, and data privacy policies. 

Michael prides himself on being a problem solver. He enjoys counseling clients and navigating the challenges and risks that arise to help them achieve a desirable outcome.
