On April 22, 2024, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights (OCR) issued the HIPAA Privacy Rule to Support Reproductive Health Care Privacy in an effort to protect reproductive health privacy in the wake of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. This rule marks the first time in over a decade that OCR has made substantive changes to the HIPAA Privacy Rule. In this presentation, Gretchen will provide a comprehensive analysis of the new rule, offer practical guidance for complying with the updated HIPAA requirements, and discuss the future of the rule under a new federal administration.
