Koley Jessen is pleased to announce that Jeff Schaffart, Shareholder and Chair of the firm’s Tax Practice Group, has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel (ACTC).

Membership in ACTC is reserved for the nation’s most accomplished tax attorneys who have made exceptional contributions to the profession. Fellows are nominated and undergo a rigorous screening process before election. The College serves as a forum for leading tax lawyers to collaborate on improving tax policy, engage in dialogue with government agencies, and support scholarly work through affiliated organizations such as the American Tax Policy Institute and the Tannenwald Foundation.

“Election to ACTC is a significant honor and reflects Jeff’s outstanding reputation and commitment to advancing tax law,” said Josh Norton, Chair of Koley Jessen’s Corporate Department. "His technical depth has long benefited our clients, and this recognition speaks to the impact of his work on complex transactions and tax policy.”

At Koley Jessen, Jeff advises private equity sponsors, management teams, and business owners on sophisticated tax planning strategies. His practice includes structuring taxable and tax-free mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and equity rollovers, as well as counseling on fund structures and operational tax matters. Jeff played a key role in designing Nebraska’s pass-through entity tax law and frequently writes and speaks on tax issues. He has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America and Chambers and Partners for his deep tax knowledge and his ability to translate complex issues into clear, actionable guidance.
