Deadline Approaching: Correcting Virtual I-9 Inspections

| Webinar
12:00 PM - 12:30 PM

Join us for a discussion on a recent announcement by The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which states employers who used virtual remote flexibilities to complete Form I-9s due to the Covid-19 pandemic must correct them by August 30, 2023.

The guidance provided by the Department of Homeland Security allowed employers to virtually obtain and inspect employment authorization documents of new hires via video call, web-based video conferencing, fax, and email. Employers must now quickly arrange in-person meetings with workers whose I-9 documents were inspected virtually throughout the pandemic and make necessary corrections. This announcement is significant as it impacts all employers who took advantage of the virtual flexibilities and underscores the importance of complying with Form I-9 requirements.
