Koley Jessen Welcomes Michael J. Linder

We are pleased to welcome Michael J. Linder as a shareholder of the firm.

Mike has over 25 years of experience in environmental law, environmental issues, permitting and compliance, and policy. Prior to joining Koley Jessen, Mike served as Director of the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) from 1999 through 2013. Governor Mike Johanns appointed him as Director in 1999, and Governor Dave Heineman reappointed him in 2004. Prior to becoming NDEQ Director, Mike served as the department’s general counsel for ten years.

Mike’s experience includes working with, implementing, and enforcing all of the major environmental laws and extensive involvement in permitting and compliance at the local, state, and federal level. He has also worked closely with the United States Environmental Protection Agency at the regional and national level. Mike has been a leader locally and nationally on environmental issues and policy. In Nebraska, he has worked closely with the Legislature for over 30 years. Mike has a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Dakota and earned his law degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  He will be working in Koley Jessen’s Omaha and Lincoln offices.
