Alison Barthel Jacobson

Overview

Alison Barthel Jacobson, ACP, CAS, supports the firm’s litigation practice. She has nearly 20 years of litigation experience, assisting attorneys with all aspects of litigation, including extensive background checks, drafting pleadings, discovery, deposition summaries, medical summaries, and exhibit lists; and preparing for and assisting at depositions, hearings, and trials in several states and courts.

Alison also has experience with E-Discovery and trial presentation software, along with advanced training in various software applications. She received her Bachelor of Science in Consumer Affairs from South Dakota State University in 1995 and her Paralegal Certificate from Metropolitan Community College in 2005. Alison became a NALA Certified Paralegal in 2009 and holds Advanced Certified Paralegal designations in Trial Practice, E-Discovery, Discovery, Automobile Accidents, and a California Advanced Specialization in Discovery.

Alison is an active member of the Nebraska Paralegal Association and has held several officer and committee positions, including President from 2010-2011. She enjoys the leadership opportunities, continuing education, and networking opportunities that NePA offers. She is also a member of  NALA, The Paralegal Association, and has attended various conferences and educational events offered by them. Alison has also been an elected board member of her community SID since 2008.

Alison is passionate about providing high-quality legal support to attorneys and clients. She regularly participates in webinars and self-paced training to update her skills and knowledge to find better ways to more effectively and efficiently provide quality work product and services.
