He is known for leading complex transactions with organization and focus, while keeping immediate workstreams moving and maintaining sight of clients’ broader strategic and economic goals.

A significant portion of Derek’s practice involves advising private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies on platform investments and growth-through-acquisition strategies. He has substantial experience structuring, negotiating, and leading bolt-on, tuck-in, and roll-up transactions following initial platform investments, helping clients execute high-volume acquisition programs across fragmented industries and position themselves for eventual exits and other liquidity events.
