James F. Cann

James Cann’s litigation and dispute resolution practice spans nearly 28 years. He regularly advocates for clients in family law cases involving divorce, separation, property division, custody, and decree modification and enforcement proceedings. Much of his practice is in complex high net worth and sophisticated asset cases. With nearly 30 years of lead counsel experience, he regularly appears in court to advocate for individuals who need thorough and compelling courtroom presentations with careful attention paid to protecting their property and the best interests of their children.

Mr. Cann also represents commercial property owners in tax valuation protests and appeals to the Nebraska Tax Equalization and Review Commission. With a deep understanding of the mechanics of commercial property valuation, he has tried numerous cases at the Commission to a conclusion, leading to substantial property tax savings for his clients. 

James’ skill in getting disputed matters resolved either by trial, mediation, or negotiations has proven to be valuable to many clients over the course of his lengthy career.
