In November 2024, Nebraska voters approved of Initiative 436 that requires Nebraska employers to provide employees with paid sick leave. The Unicameral has since passed the Nebraska Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (the “Act”), which is set to take effect in September and October 2025. This presentation will cover the new requirements for Nebraska employers and regulatory guidance on the implementation of the Act from the Nebraska Department of Labor.
