The requirements surrounding “Good Faith Estimates” apply to all providers and facilities in the health care industry. Most coverage of the No Surprises Act has focused on the balance billing prohibitions. However, some of the most onerous requirements surround the new protections available to uninsured and self-pay individuals. It is critical for providers and facilities to have appropriate procedures in place to address these requirements. Jake will discuss everything we know (so far) about this part of the No Surprises Act including, among other things, when to deliver Good Faith Estimates, the content of Good Faith Estimates, the purpose behind such protections, and current enforcement.
