Patrice Ott helps businesses assess the risks and opportunities involved when they are facing a potential dispute with a customer, vendor, employee or outside party. She works with the client to understand how the issues at hand fit in with the overall business strategy and provides practical advice on the best path forward.
Her involvement includes ensuring clients have an understanding of all stages of the litigation process, the law and court rules that will influence the matter. At the outset, Patrice helps clients with interpreting contracts that may be at the center of the dispute. Once she has the underlying facts and has assessed the risk with the client, she will develop a litigation strategy. She conducts discovery, drafts briefs, issues subpoenas, drafts mediation statements, negotiates settlements and participates in the trial, and, if needed, engages in the appellate process.
Patrice’s experience includes fending off patent trolls, general commercial disputes, ERISA litigation, construction litigation, commercial landlord-tenant disputes, and employment law disputes.
