Overview
Bryan Slone is a seasoned advisor and connector at the crossroads of business, law, and public policy. With over 40 years of experience spanning government, private practice, and international business, he helps clients navigate complex challenges with clarity and strategy.
He has served as Tax Counsel to a member of the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee, Assistant to the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, founding partner of a law firm in Berlin, Germany, and managing partner of Deloitte’s Nebraska office. He also served as President of the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and was a candidate for Governor of Nebraska. Bryan has shared his expertise as an Executive in Residence at the University of Nebraska College of Business.
Bryan advises clients on matters involving public policy and legislation, economic and workforce development, corporate and tax law, dispute resolution (including domestic and international tax disputes), corporate governance, risk management, and nonprofit organizations. His clients range from startups to multinational corporations, with a focus on industries such as financial services, manufacturing, transportation, energy, consumer products, and technology.
A longtime advocate for pro-growth policies, Bryan operates at the intersection of business and public policy. He is dedicated to helping businesses—local and global—navigate complex challenges and seize opportunities through forward-looking, strategic guidance.
Experience
Representative Matters
- Represented clients in connection with large bankruptcy proceedings including investigating tax matters on behalf of a Trustee, and participating in the successful litigation of a landmark case affecting the ability of debtors with significant tax attributes to reorganize under Chapter 11
- Represented multinational companies in resolving transfer pricing controversies in the United States and negotiating with foreign country tax administration officials
- Provided tax advice in numerous corporate transactions of large and small companies
- Assisted family businesses and professional practices in strategic planning and succession planning
- Represented numerous individuals and corporations in successfully resolving disputes in proceedings before IRS examination, collection, and appeals officials
- Advocated on federal and state public policy matters including meeting with public officials and building advocacy coalitions.
