Overview
Patrice Ott helps businesses protect their most valuable assets when in a dispute with a former employee or outside party. She works with clients to understand how disputes and their resolution fit in with the overall business strategy and provides practical advice on the best path forward.
Her involvement includes ensuring clients have an understanding of all stages of the litigation process, the law and court rules that will influence the matter. At the outset, Patrice helps clients with interpreting contracts that may be at the center of the dispute. Once she has the underlying facts and has assessed the risk with the client, she will develop a litigation strategy. She conducts discovery, drafts briefs, issues subpoenas, drafts mediation statements, negotiates settlements and participates in the trial, and, if needed, engages in the appellate process.
Patrice’s experience includes non-compete disputes, responding to and seeking requests for injunctive relief, employment discrimination matters, class action defense, general commercial disputes, commercial landlord-tenant disputes, and assisting clients in responding to litigation and government subpoenas.
